Summer Skincare Rescue | Innisfree's 23NEW Masksheet Review

Summer brings relentless challenges for my skin: a shiny T-zone paired with dehydrated cheeks, stubborn UV-induced dullness, and occasional breakouts. To combat these issues, I tested three masks from Innisfree's 23NEW Masksheet series—Pomegranate, Rose, and Green Tea—to see if they could become my go-to skincare heroes this season.

Innisfree Masks

Pre-skincare routine

Each evening after cleansing, I prepped my skin with Innisfree's Green Tea Seed Serum, gently patting it in before applying the masks. The 15-minute masking ritual became a calming escape from the summer heat.

Innisfree pomegranate brightening mask

Key Claims: Formulated with Jeju pomegranate extract and niacinamide (vitamin B3), this mask targets antioxidant protection and brightening. Pomegranate polyphenols fight free radicals, while niacinamide aims to reduce uneven tone and dark spots. The natural fiber sheet promises a lightweight, skin-hugging fit.

My Experience:
The slightly pink, jelly-like serum caught my attention immediately, with its sweet, fruity fragrance. The sheet itself lived up to its "feather-light" claim—nearly invisible on the skin, even conforming seamlessly around my nose. While the essence quantity was moderate (leaving little residue in the packet), the sheet held moisture well without dripping.
Post-mask, my skin looked visibly polished, with a noticeable reduction in dullness, especially after late nights. After three consecutive uses, faint sunspots on my cheeks appeared lighter (though stubborn marks require longer-term use). However, oil control was minimal—ideal for combo skin but oily types may need a mattifying moisturizer afterward.

Innisfree Pomegranate Energy Mask
Innisfree Rose Energy Mask

Innisfree rose hydrating mask

Key Claims: Centered around Jeju rose water, this mask combines hyaluronic acid and panthenol (vitamin B5) for deep hydration and barrier repair. The Tencel cotton sheet is designed for breathable moisture retention.

My Experience:
The watery, transparent essence carried a subtle, soothing rose scent. The Tencel sheet felt softer and slightly thicker than the Pomegranate variant, resembling a damp rose petal against the skin. By the 10-minute mark, the sheet began drying around my nose, suggesting oily zones may benefit from shorter application (12 minutes max).
This mask excelled as a hydration emergency fix! Post-masking, my parched cheeks plumped up instantly, with a velvety-soft texture. The next morning, my makeup glided smoothly without flaking around the nose. However, its rich formula might feel too occlusive for acne-prone skin—better suited for dry or combination types focusing on dry areas.

Innisfree green tea soothing mask

Key Claims: Infused with Jeju green tea extract and tea tree oil, this mask caters to oily, acne-prone skin. Beta-glucan calms redness, while menthol delivers a cooling sensation, aiming to balance oil and soothe sun-stressed skin.

My Experience:
The pale green serum had a refreshing herbal aroma, evoking a walk through a misty tea field. Though the sheet was the thickest of the three, it remained breathable, and the essence absorbed into a lightweight finish. The menthol's chill was invigorating but not irritating (avoid the eye area!).
After a day under the sun, this mask was a savior—redness faded rapidly, and my forehead texture smoothed after two uses. Oil production also decreased slightly. However, its lighter hydration meant following up with a moisturizer was essential. Oily and acne-prone skin will adore its balancing power, but dry types should proceed with caution.

Innisfree Green Tea Energy Mask

Final verdict

Pomegranate Mask: A quick fix for dullness, ideal for combo skin seeking a radiant glow.

Rose Mask: A lifesaver for dry patches, offering intense hydration and barrier support—perfect pre-makeup!

Green Tea Mask: Oily skin's summer staple, balancing sebum and calming irritation with a refreshing chill.

Personal Preference: As a combo-oily skin type, I rotated the Green Tea mask post-sun exposure, relied on Pomegranate for late-night recovery, and used Rose twice weekly for targeted hydration. The trio created a balanced, ritualistic skincare routine!

Tips: This line contains mild fragrance—patch test if sensitive. While effective, limit masking to 2-3 times weekly to avoid overhydration.
